Jennifer Catuncan, Diplomate O.D

Jennifer Catuncan, O.D., a residency trained optometrist and glaucoma specialist, is a native of Dallas.  She attended the University of Texas at Dallas and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Finance with a minor in Biology.  Dr. Catuncan graduated in 2007 from the University of Houston College of Optometry.  Among her graduating class, she was chosen by her professors and attending clinicians to receive both the Excellence in Low Vision and Excellence in Ocular Disease awards.  Her work on Vogt Koyanagi Harada Disease was published in the Institute for Optometric Practice and distributed to all other optometry schools in the nation.  She is an active member of the American Optometric Association, Texas Optometric Association, Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society, and both the Dallas and Tarrant County Optometric Society.

Dr. Catuncan is driven by the pursuit of excellence and has special interests in ocular disease, low vision, contact lenses, LASIK management, cataract pre and post-surgery management, vision therapy, and pediatrics.  She is also a proud volunteer for the national InfantSEE program which works to detect and promote awareness of eye conditions that can affect children’s vision long-term.

Dr. Catuncan completed a 13 month residency at the Eye Center of Texas in Houston, Texas.  The program focused on the management of ocular disease, pathology, and ocular emergencies.  She had the privilege of working under the guidance and direction of both ophthalmologists and optometrists.  Within this clinical environment, she learned how to incorporate the use of medical literature and critical thinking into effective patient care.

Outside the office, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, eating, working out, and is an avid sports fan.
